So many soft rock hits, so little time

So, here's my deep, dark secret: I LOVE soft rock hits. LOVE THEM. It's almost an obsession. The mushier the song, the more I love it! But, I sense that I'm not alone. Why don't you tell me your favorite soft rock hit. Don't front! We all have one! Then in the spirit of Forky, we'll vote and finally find the best soft rock hit ever in the history of the world! (or at least among the voters) Need help remembering? Check this out:

There are SOOO many! I hope I can vote multiple times. Here are the first few that came to mind:

"More Than Words" by Extreme
"You've Got a Friend" (and pretty much everything else) by James Taylor
"Homeward Bound" by Simon & Garfunkel
"Take it Easy" by The Eagles
and, of course, "Sweet Caroline"

Of course everyone can vote multiple times!! Those are some good ones. I think my vote is going to be that one with the lyrics: "don't stop believin'..." What is that one called?

Hey! Where's ABBA?

As much as I luuuurve ABBA, J-Fo, I'm not sure their glittery disco pop really fits in with the mellow acoustic groove of the true soft rock hit.

I also vote for "Open Arms" by Journey and "Hard Habit to Break" by Chicago.

After all, what is Election Day if you can't cast multiple ballots all over town?! I mean, uhhh... just kidding! Everybody get out and vote today!

You'll be happy to know, a-dub, that I'm voting. But, it is nice to be able to rig the vote on SOMETHING...even if it is just for best soft rock hit!

The best thing about Queen III liking soft rock is listening to her SING soft rock.

I'm thinking about it now and a big smile just spread across my face. Like butter on a piece of toast.

If they count meatloaf in the Encyclopedia then i'm going to have to say

"I would do anything for love" - Meatloaf
Absolutely anything by James Taylor
"Mrs. Robinson" - Simon & Garfunkel

I think I'll also put one in for "I Would do Anything for Love" AND add "Nightshift" by the Commodores AND "Have a Little Faith in Me" by Joe Cocker AND "Walking in Memphis" by Mark Cohn. Whew! How will we ever decided.

Does anybody know what it is he WON'T do for love? You know, "...but I won't do THAT." What's he talking about?

You don't wanna know.

Just kidding. I think it's open to interpretation. It can be as wholesome or dirty as your imagination wishes. That's what I've always assumed anyway, but I've never really listened to all the lyrics.

If we're counting Meatloaf as soft rock, what about Bonnie Tyler? Does "Turn Around" (or whatever that song is actually called) count? I'm not sure why, but in my mind, Meatloaf and Bonnie Tyler have always been very closely linked.
